    Hey, just a quick question.

I'm looking for a stand-alone solution that would allow me to use a HDD as a Video Recorder, WITHOUT A PC. Basically, I want to have a hand-held video recorder (or possibly even output also, so player) made out of a spare 3.5" drive I have laying around.

Regular RCA A/V inputs or even S-Video, then be able to transfer back to PC at the end of the day with USB.

So, what I'd be looking for:
A/D converter to convert composite video into digital
AVI, MP4, wmv, whatever video format encoder
Usb slave interface (later, possibly usb HOST, to hook up webcam directly, or download to thumb-drive?)
    Battery Powered
    Small/portable

    Thanks All,
    Jlopez
