Im always looking for ways to reduce noise whilst pushing more air through the case so i was wondering if anyone knows if the Antec p182 accomodate 140mm fans with 120mm fitting holes. im particularly interested in the new noctua p14 fans

    Thanks

It's actually based on the fans, some 140mm fans use 120mm screw holes.

The Noctua fans you're looking at have 120mm screw holes, though you should be sure that there's enough space around the fans for the extra 10mmish per side.

Scythe and Evercool make fans of the same form factor, take a look at those if you want to save some money.. They're both ~$10 each, while the Noctuas are ~$25.

how would that work better though if the holes for the air to travel through only conform to 120mm?

I'm guessing that the fan is bigger if only for the ability to push more air.

that was my main concern about the size...do you know if either of those fans have 120mm mounting holes?

All the fans I mentioned have 120mm mounting holes.

right, it's a bigger fan, but the holes in the case are for 120 mm(arent they?). so you will have air being pushed into a solid section of case, so i don't understand how that will help cool it? it may reduce noise though i would think only minimally, but i dont see how it would push more air.

would it not depend on the size of the opening. i was just wondering if anyone has tried it thats all. i might have to buy and evercool to test it out.
