Do disk arrays wipe the data already on a drive?

    If i choose to array a single 200gb sata hard drive (already patitioned earlier 50/50) because I have to in order for the computer to see it, will all data be lost on the drive when it is "arrayed"?

    what technique you using? if it's striping, yes, the data is wiped. mirroring, you can do it so that no, the data isn't wiped.
