Heh I had just gotten my new computer and brand new 120gig western digital.. I had problems with the mobo and hard drives but when i got it working I decided that i would let my friend use one of my new 120's for the server box and just use one for me... well we hooked it up and it sound like someone grinding steel.. But it worked>?? well we are curious and we decided to take it out and examine it.. We shook it and it sounds like an hour glass!!!!!! heh.. oh well.. It makes a nice paper weight..
what?! as in powder inside? whoa. I hope you have a warranty. 120gb... sheesh. what a waste of perfectly good shiny pieces of metal.
Ceramic Some harddrives are made out of ceramic, so they have a tendancy to break which really sucks:waaw: huge high sensity harddrives do even more readily the rattling you heard was all the little particles movin' around inside. but most really smaller <50gig harddrives now are made of metal composite thingeys
Heh my friend is rma now heh we want to get a good one... Dunno what was wrong tho.. it won't work at all now tho oh well should be gettin a new one.
My friend currently has it rma and it is getting sent back currently as we speak WOOT WOOT! heh.. now he can get his extra box up... Now we can all have back up computers that can run most games..
