nicest people eh! you dissing straight people ??? but riddle me this, which if you actually are afraid opf them, as the phobia part would presume, it is actually built in that your scared of them, should you be shunned then! eh! eh! and besides, homophobia is no worse than calling someone cause they support another football team! if you think about it its their choice which sexuality they choose, its their choice which footie team they choose, yet callign them about their footie choice is ok and about their sexuality is not ?? hmmmmm, personally im not homophobic (though my flamboyant use of the word "gay" might give other oppinions) but personally it ihnk homophobic people just wanna support their team if you get what i mean and t be honest i would feel the same about heterophobic people
homophobia is a phobia -- a mental disease. an ailment. an illness. its more than a matter of choice; homophobes (SP?) are scared of gay people, even frightened. Women homophobes tend to stick to their side of the fence, as it were, and "leave them to do what they do", the stereotypical homophobe male can become agressive, aggitated etc. this is because (to them) they feel like thier being backed into a corner, being surrounded by "the enemy". Think of it like a dog being backed into a corner, it'll go nasty on ya'! My point is, homophobia is far more than a choice. its an ailment that *should* be cured. BTW. My favourite thing to think of when talking about homophobes is that most (not all) claim that to be gay is un-natural. And yet, dolphins (and greater apes... our closest animal relative) *do* engage in what they would call 'gay activities'. Making THEM un-natural (that shuts 'em up for a while)

Erm this thread seemed to get hi jacked a bit. As the person of said licked the other side of the stamp in the old thread it was not meant as a discrimatory (spelling?) thing. I have to put up with comments such as my lack of hair but I don't say to people are discrimating against me because they hate bald people. Back to parents mine can be a pain in the arse, but without them and the close family I would be a lot worse off without them, they support me and tell me to go for what I want. Now Cheryl I don't even pretend to understand you and your parents relationship but you must feel they done an alright job as you are letting them bring your daughter up? or if they are that bad why are you leaving your daughter with them?
(Nicks Toms Name for a minute) I dont leave my daugther with my dad cos he works away and even if he didn't hes the last person i would leave her with -if you read one of my posts about when someone was talking about peaodophiles -you will know why. I leave her with my mum cos i trust my mum and know that she is being well looked after -i was actually moaning about their prejudice against Tom!
My parents are actaully pretty good. My dad and i have exactly the same sense of humour and mum says he really misses me when i am at uni. Mum on the other hand is a bit of a weepy person, she ends up in tears at nothing. One problem i do have with them is their holier than thou attitude sometimes. Ther are Christian and believe in no sex before marriage, so did i until i met Haz, then the problems started, i tole them that i had gone on the pill, BIG mistake! They gave US a 2 hour lecture on why we shouldn't but we told them we respected their views but could make our own decisions about it. After that they accepted the decision but still don;t talk to me about it and i avoid the topic. Now I don;t mind them getting at me but my sister used to be the same as them and wouldn't even let me talk about Haz let alone talk about any of the details of our relationship. Now she has her own longer erm b/f she has slept int he same bed as him, not done ant=ything mind but she has to lie to mum cos she will get so cross. I'm all for parents trying to protect their kids but Haz still has nightmares about that talk even now!!
