I prefer widescreens, but only if they don't just sacrifice the resolution to make it wide.

    Here's my take on it:

30" widescreen. Because you can never, ever have too much. :D

Nexxo, how do you get the partitions onto your sidebar?

    Do want

I don't really see the point in maximising a window either, I keep most of mine maxed but that's only because my screen is a bit too small to have two windows displaying at once.

    It's a gadget: http://paradox31102.deviantart.com/art/Sidebar-Seperator-68313901

If you just want to throw in some resizable empty space to separate the gadgets, download the gadget "Empty Space": http://www.vistasidebar.com/vsb/content/view/35/42/

Proves my point though: you can never have too much... :D

Well yeah. But it also shows you don't have nearly enough ;)

I can just imagine some forum member maximizing Bit across the whole array, and just have some entire novel-sized posts stretched out across one line.

Currently on MBP's 15" wide. Bit small for movies, but isn't a disaster. Survivable :thumb:

Hey nexxo, your drive gadget, how did you manage to get yours so close together? Mine has a gap in between each drive gadget...

Yes. Actually I adore my 24" screen. It's great not only when watching movies (1080 goodness and any wide material) but also when just browsing sites (heard of multitasking? I have winamp/downloads/SSH client on the right side and "normal shaped" browser on the left) wides also shine on photo editing as shown below. Actually I sold my last screen to my father who's enthusiastic photographer and he's been very pleased with the shape of it. Here's an example why I do love it so much:

I had a 20" screen before this one and with that the idea was still kinda missing as the height was still only 1050 pixels.

I think that 24" has to be the best combo of Screen real estate / price at the moment.

mainly because it gives sort of more natureal POV - it just feels better to read on my 15.4 MBP than on my desktop rig, which is why I don't use it that much anymore

I love them - 2 windows open side by side, or wide screen gaming - the extra real estate is so much better. 1680x1050 = my preferred resolution.

You can add more than one drive per gadget rather than just adding in multiple gadgets.

I agree that for some things widescreen is a pain but as many others have said WS is great for movies and games (but only those that properly support WS).

Fixes I've found for WS issues:
Move the taskbar to the left edge of the screen.
    WideScreenGamingForum
GridMove: automatically & easily resize windows (I Love this program)
