Do you shop on Black Friday? Or, do you bury your head in the sand and avoid all the craziness? Why? Why not?

I am never a big fan of shopping, let alone on a day when a zillion people are out doing the same thing, but I am pretty tempted to shop online this year: http://blackfriday2009sale.info

Until about 2000 Marilyn and I did the in person - show up at a store thing. With the advent of gift cards, prepaid Visa and Mastercards(US) we do a lot of online now.

Come on, what do 60+ yr. old grandparents know about what 14 yr. old girls want! I have 5 grandkids and as soon as my oldest grandson gets out of bootcamp(Army) he is getting married. Great grandkids! Woot.

We have supplied a stable home for all the kids and grandkids for 20 years in the same house. Grandma's house. We buy what we want all year long.

A special Holiday is when the 'kids' come around. Marilyn Can Cook!

If the 5870s are back in stock, then yes.

Otherwise, no, I have pretty much everything else I need.

I used to enjoy the thrill of the hunt but in the past few years I have noticed that the sales aren't that great compared to online retailers. So I will be at work this friday.

The deals are barely worth it anymore, usually can find the same, if not better, deals on Newegg and stuff, so no, I don't.

I'm not even leaving the house unless I have to. Crazy drivers here!

No. I will be attending the Texas Renaissance Festival to enjoy a day out with the family.

Besides, a lot of the Black Friday thing is smoke and mirrors. The great deals generally are saddled with provisos such as "while supplies last" or "only with purchase of X dollars of merchandise."

    No thanks.

I plan on not leaving the house on Friday. I finally have two full days off where I don't work at either job so there will be a lot of sleep. Last day off was a couple months ago and that was for surgery to have a kidney stone removed.

That's not even mentioning that I hate crowds and drivers are stupid enough around here on a normal day. Deals are just as good on Newegg so done.
