Hi all. I'm new here! I play guitar and sing, you can hear me on www.markgreville.com, if you are interested. Oh, some ^&%$ has hacked my guestbook. Any ideas on how to stop this happening (its the third time) Thanks Mark.
Let me guess no registration required? And you need a better site... heh no offense... If you need help just let me know...
Hi. Thanks for the reply. Correct, its just a standard guestbook, no registration. I am a windows apps developer, so my website skills may be a little on the short side. What do you suggest for the site? Thanks Mark.
For the site I suggest something that truly expresses your music and you. PM me to see some of my work For the guestbook, basically you want to use something like phpBB. Make sure your password for the administrator accounts are at least a 2nd level password, numbers and letters and capital and lowercase...
I play the guitar. I wouldn't mind learning Chanter and moving onto the Bagpipes. I used to play Keyboard. Played trumpet for a few years when I was younger
back on topic: i started out on alto sax. hurt my teeth, so i gave up on school band after a year. after that, i started on a bit of piano, and it annoyed everyone. moved to guitar. classical at first. then i discovered the joy of the plectrum. (that's a pick for the rednecks) started getting good with the 6 string, and decided that i should have a bass also - thats what i always really wanted. my best friend at the time was a percussionist - second snare in our marching band as a freshman. he started teaching my the rudiments. changed my life. after that i stared in on percussion, sampling, and effects. spent a few years running boards for my friend's bands. mixed down some demos, became "cable bitch" - and never really got involved with people that i could play well with and that were reliable enough to stay active. kind of dropped out of that scene, started mixing d&b and techno for fun. i guess i'm more of a producer/engineer than a musican. looking into buying a 6 string soon - developing a bit of carpal tunnel in the left hand, and a tingle in the pinky. supposedly playing is good for that.
I have played piano for about 10 years now (since I was 5 ish). I've done the ABRSM Grade 5 and will do 6 in Nov. Right now I'm learning to play Bohemian Rhapsody. I have also been playing flute for 4 and a half years in the school band. We got second place in UK at a Manchester festival a couple of years ago (before I joined, unfortunately). _C
