Not more, but I've got quite a lot put into instruments. If I had the extra time, I would love to start some sort of private lesson thing, just because I think it'd be fun. Between the drum kit, the Yamaha piano, the Yamaha Bari/Tenor/Alto Saxophones, and a valved trombone, I've got a lot (probably a lot more than I should...) put into instruments Nice horn, btw. Yamaha makes such quality instruments
impressive. not many have the lung power to blow a bary. i started on an alto, and would have stuck with it if i hadn't been so in love with guitars. for all you sax players - have you ever checked out the band Morphine? i know they have been defunct for quite a few years, with the bassist's untimely demise and all, but thier sax player was amazing live - playing an alto and a tenor at the same time, and quite well. eerie to hear sax chords ... much like hearing those bhuddist monks that can chant in 2 and 3 note polyphony. almost disturbing.
No these grades are are published by a company called rockschool which are credited by Trinity college or so it says. Here's the website www.rockschool.co.uk from the looks of things the new pricing scheme means the that grade seven isnt available but the grade 8 cost about £80 with pays for the book and the exam fee.
I play anything percussion related and the piano. As for something else, I dont know the drum and percussion are the only thing that have caught my eye and i can already play them.
I have to step in on this one. It's technically a string instrument, using percussive hammers to strike the strings
Drums, Trumpet, Played recorder in grade 8 Yes, but you dont strike the strings on a violin do you? Plus, your fingers are striking the keys. That and the fact that EVERY musician I have ever spoken to has informed me that the piano is a percussion instrument.
and (french) horn is a woodwind as well, even though it has all the salient characteristics of a brass instrument...
