Do you look at post counts for experience and wisdom!!! Or does it not bother you? Although I don't have a large post count I feel I can help people just as well! What do you think?
quality over quantity imo, Although if im buying stuff in the market place i tend to favour higher frequent posters tbh.
Post Count != Trustworthiness Rep != Trustworthiness It doesn't matter to me - I don't trust anyone, anyway!
yes, but not mankz post count. But i don't judge first by post count, i look at the content. If the content is weak then i look at the post count, if its sub 500 then there still learning. If its weak and over 2000 then there just a post-a-holic
snap someone who has been here for 5 years and has 5000 posts has too much invested in the forum to mess things about on a sale...
fixed that for ya. also, just from being around bit-tech for awhile you will see who knows a lot about certain topics, for example, if you are looking for advice on porn, ask mankz, if you are looking for advice on more serious stuff, ask nexxo.
Exactly! You might get those with large post counts as such: Getting shut down by those with less, as such: Or you'll get cheeky pricks like my with a decent amount coming by and adding almost nothing, as such.
^ This coupled with the abilty to reason in a patient manner, not be abusive or denegrating just because someone thinks differently and the good grace to accept when someone else has a valid point or that you got something wrong.
Not post count alone, but after following the forums for ages I do know who to believe and who not to.
Wish I didn't but I do That may be due to see who is the more experienced, but I have to admit that I envy soem of the ones with more posts. I hope I'm not the only one that feels a little jealousy when seeing the post count of Jipa and the likes.
This. Generally, it doesn't matter... although if I see a low post count along with a combination of childish spelling mistakes coupled with dodgy sounding advice, I'll usually be able to put two and two together and realize the poster is a newbie and may be talking crap. Usually. Besides, the majority of the time I'm answering questions rather than asking them, which I am more than happy to do... even for the newest newbie (and I don't mean that in a boastful manner at all - I have asked for advice on several topics from fellow bit tekkers plenty of times and been very grateful of that advice and help)
I look at post count, and also length of time they've been a member. Short time and high post count usually means demote thread whore To be fair.. it doesn't matter. The most knowledgeable person in the world may have joined last week and only has a post count of 20. Meaningless.
somewhat, yes. Just like any other situation in life however, I only trust someone after I got to know him/her a little. On a forum you never really know the person per se but you can get to know a little of how they think and know
