Do you think you spend too much time online?

Has Facebook, Twitter or online gaming had a negative effect on your life?

My name’s Katie Lamborn and I’m looking for people with a story to tell for a radio documentary on internet addiction for the BBC World Service.

I’d also love to hear from anyone who had been treated for any sort of online addiction.

If you live in the UK and would like to share your story please get in contact.

Another journalist with nothing to write about trying to cook up a story off the back of the Panorama documentry. I very much doubt she'll have a single new thing to add to the debate.

    Next.

    I can almost see it:

"Addicted to computers and modern tech, this anonymous group of shut-ins calling themselves "Bit-tech" respond to any form of outside communication with hostility and suspicion. "

How long is too long? Besides in today's society surely a better focus for a documentary is for those people who spend less than 2 hours a day online. I'm online from when I wake up to when I go to sleep, either on my phone, at work, laptop, desktop, Skype..... mmmmm internet :thumb:

It was done here in Montreal. Radio Canada came to a friend of mine (and other random people, though I don't remember how they got a hold of them) and asked them what gaming was and all. Then they filmed then playing WoW and some other games. In the end, on tv, they presented them as video games addict even though they weren't. Never trust the media

I dunno sometimes i find myself away from the pc and strange things happen....

Suddenly shakes, sweaty palms and the undying urge to pull out a tactical knife and stab the annoying person infront of me....

    Too much? Yeah quite likely.

Enough to tell that's the wrong way to approach people on forums? Oh yes.

Ah, so the banhammer gestated in a box eh. Who'd have thought.....

It's not all bad with online gaming etc. though. Two people who met through my guild in LotRO a couple of years ago are now getting married.

I probably wouldn't mind getting involved in such a documentary but i doubt my own personal cynicism and sarcasm would add much to the proceedings.
