Slashing tyres? What's next? shooting people with the gun that is carried for "self defence" and "defence of parking rights" of course, like what happens in america? If you really think that someone has parked inconsiderably, lift all of thier wipers up. This causes no damage, but inconvience, which might possibly be enough for them to think "maybe i'll park properly next time", if we're lucky.
Check out this guy's parking at this address: 52°4'9.10" N 4°18'50.39" E If you can't see him, just zoom in a couple of steps. The guy is parked sideways, and yes, he's using up two parking spots aswell. If i saw him parked like this i wouldn't leave him a note or touch his wipers though It really is some nice parking!
Here's the thing though, those cars beside you can still open their door almost the entire way. Haha. You can't open them that far if a regular car would park correctly beside you. Haha. Haha. Thats something alright.
that takes a while to see whats wrong in there. love it! TBH i park pretty much with in the box, i just stated about parking on the line to see the re-action to it, and i have only ever boxed in friends at college, well except one van driver who knocked off my wing mirror and tried to drive off, that was some defensive quick parking! He stopped looked, looked at me and then tried to gun it away, not today sunshine 'block'. Here is one that i noticed today and fell victim to, bikers who put there bike at the far end of a bay between cars, so you see what looks like an empty bay only to get a nasty shock, and to start the hunt again!
And see yourself important enough to destroy somebody else his property? I learned that you don't touch other peoples property, guess that's a cultural thing
quite a few people i know arrive at uni over an hour early to make sure they get a close space and avoid the ten minute walk from the overflow carpark
Seeing as I don't drive yet I can't say what I do but what I would do. Usually I would park in the area of a carpark that has hardly any cars, makes parking a ton easier and quicker. My gf is the complete opposite, we live on a street with terraced houses with no drives, there are far too many cars for the space available and she gets in a major stress if she can't park 5m from the house.
I always park as far away as possible to lessen the chances of an asshole banging his door on my car. When I had my old Accord 91, I was parked at a mall and while I was eating my lunch in the car, some stupid lady hit her door on my car. I was IN the car but yet she didn't give a damn and just left good thing it was my current car or she would have heard about me
Have you been here? That doesn't happen. You non-American guys seem to think that because we have the second amendment (specifically because we broke away from England a couple centuries ago, no less) that everyone's wearing around a holster packing heat and firing into the air whenever lines are too long. Yes, there's occasional gun violence, but it's not like your criminals don't have guns too, and I've absolutely never heard of it happening over a freaking parking space. I agree that the folks here talking about slashing tires for inconsiderate parking are totally over the top. Much more than anything I've ever seen here, for that matter (I saw slashed tires once ever, but that was because a guy managed to take up four spaces at a big mall on Christmas Eve, so he pretty much had it coming). Lifting the wipers might solicit an interesting response though. I, for one, would just be confused if it happened to my car, but after reading this thread it would make a bit of sense
Yea slashing tires might be a little extreme but like Firehed said some people have it coming I never thought of lifting wipers up (they might not get it but you do) I'll think of that next time I see someone parking like a jerk
You clearly don't understand the concept of destroying someone elses property... Consider they were low profile tyres you had decided to slash. That could be like nearly 1000 of your dollars if they were decent tyres. I presume if it is your designated space, the one next to you must be designated as well. Does leaving a note not seem like a good idea? Man alive, I have to stay I'm still in shock that someone who frequents this forum would actually slash tyres....that's definetly a new low for a bit-tech member. That doesn't even account for the motive behind it. I mean bad parking? Jesus...I'd hate to see what you'd do if someone ****ed your wife.
I dont tend to look for a place i just park where i can, unless i am going to a certain place where i go alot in which place i try park one of 2 locations. multi storey i dont really care i just go where i can same as when i go shoping. but its when i go out i try park in those 2 places so i can find my car the next day easily.
the first one i see, i have more interesting thoughts than 'the best place to park' ...minus the time i parked in the trolley bay on a saturday morning in sainsburies, HIGH FIVE MINI OWNERS!
I'm sure i read or saw a news story once on a shooting over a parking space once... i think it was america.. i found this from a quick google! I dunno if it was the same one though?
Well it's not impossible, but I've never heard of one, and it's certainly anything but a regular occurrence. If you're nuts enough to shoot someone, you're certainly nuts enough to stab them, smash their skull with a tire iron, run them over, or whatever. In a country of 300m+ people, you can hardly be surprised when a couple of whack jobs turn up (look who runs the place, after all) And while it's not why we have the second amendment, I'm sure it's a reason there's no true USA equivalent of the chav.
