The Makra (the crabby things in Gridlock) ARE old enemies, from the Troughton era IIRC.

They hardly made and appearance though, may as well have just called them generic giant crab species

That was a good episode, I'm quite liking season 3 now.
I'm liking this Saxon stuff as well, he really is starting to sound like the Master, God, that would be so awesome

The mutant insectoid thing in tonights episode, made the cacky looking CGI scorpion king in the Mummy 2 look life-like. Enjoyed it, but I think the special effects people are over stretching themselves...

I wish they'd stop writting episodes on Earth. I suppose it might be cheaper to do that.

Plus i hate the music they've got with the New Dr Who. It used to be awesome and synthy, but the guy they've got doing it at the moment has gone orchestral and i don't like it. I got bored and wrote some awesome tense synth pieces the other night :thumb: maybe if i run into HQ they'll listen :D

    I read elsewhere that
Saxon is to be played by John "Sam Tyler" Sims.

PS - No episode next week due to BBC's obsession/obligation to torture us with Eurokaraoke! :wallbash:

Whoever the composer is definitely has a love affair with Pirates of the Caribbean - he's used the same refrain in virtually every episode so far...

Yeah, I wish it was more traditional sci-fi than it is at the moment. Too much of alternative universes and time travelling but always on Earth or orbit. I want to see weird planets and aliens. The Tardis doesn't get enough love if you ask me.

Yeah, that one on the space station with the devil was awesome, probably one of the best in that series. I would really love it if they got off earth more, we don't want another doctor stuck on earth like Pertwee was.

Haha yeah that episode, that was the DOOM one if i remember rightly, even the doors made that same noise when they opened. Also on the episode in this series where that building went to the moon, i'm pretty sure UAC was printed on the side of a machine.

That two-parter was imo quite simply the best episode(s) of Doctor Who I've ever watched!

At least the best of the new seasons.

The next ep looks like it'll be good, but I'm just waiting for Utopia and the season finale.
Cap'n Jack returns and we get to see what all the Mr. Saxon/Master malarkey is about.
    Should be good television.

Well, as I've never seen any of the old stuff bar the film (I know, I know... I'm only a youngling though!) I'm well happy. And also rather intrigued about the current Sun-inspired rumours of RTD et al quitting - will we finally get more people who know how to write good stories?

The 2-parter showed just how good an actor David Tennant is.
