TV Shows Doctor Who - Season 6 (2011) Discussion

Soooo.... What did we all think about the xmas special? I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Just watched it on iPlayer in Austria with some of the family, it was great! Excellent entertainment

And those trailers looked pretty epic, it seems to be more like a film type thing now.

 

Christmas day episode = wtf?

Pretty much nothing made any sense at all- the timer/ dial on the cryochamber was never actually explained ( unless I missed it- I was watching with my mum and she kept asking questions constantly ), why couldnt the doctor just tow the ship out of the cloud ( he towed a ship away from a black hole before ffs ), why did they keep putting Katherine boobkins back in the cryochamber when surely they could have just sprung her and paid off the debt to the miserable old fart, why were Rory & Amy even on that ship & dressed in those outfits ( may have missed that bit too )? And best yet, even when they did turn the miserable old fart into a nice person he couldnt operate the machine anyway! They might as well have just freed KJ and got her to sing into the cloud in the past before any of that nonsense happend to start with; total and utter load bollocks which made little to no sense- very much like the 2nd half of the end of season special.

The next series looks promising though, if they dont end up making a mess out of it again at the very end.

 

The number on the coffin referred to the days she had left to live because she was ill.

 

Ah, cheers; its impossible to watch something like Dr.Who with a woman as they just dont understand anything and distract you with questions constantly. I may have to watch it again on iPlayer...

Michael Gambon's character couldn't operate the weather machine at the end as it was designed to respond
to his brain pattern, a pattern the Doctor had spent the whole episode changing.
As for Rory & Amy, they were in the Honeymoon Suite of that starliner.

I will be honest, I'd managed to survive without Dr. WHo for a time, then, just as I was about to watch Waking the Dead: Teaser Trailer.

I sat there for a second, then just yelled "B*****D!" into my room. And directly at my Girlfriend on the other end of the skype call. x3 Whoops.

Apologized afterwards though.

Anywai: It should be good, very good, if Stephen Moffat improves on his writing from last time, IMHO: He's very, very good at deep, Phsycological episodes, but not whole series. Perhaps the practice from the previous one will have changed that, though.

 

Just watched the last episode of the first half of the series, that was probably the best episode of the series so far.

Does anyone else think that

Since The Doctor and River/Melody are traveling through time in opposite directions that River may end up as the Tardis? The series does sort of hint at it (the first time they meet she says she's the Doctors wife and becomes stored in the library/ the episode where the girl gets the Tardis Life force and takes on the Tardis personality is called the Doctor's Wife and her last words reference River

 

Heads up - the second half of season 6 starts on Saturday night!

That's August 27th at 7:10pm, BBC One & HD.

And it's quite possibly the best Doctor Who epsiode title ever: - "Lets Kill Hitler"

 

Wow. I thought i was the only one looking forward to it being shown. Just trying to think, who's my favourite doctor. Matt Smith does a great job. But I thoroughly enjoyed watching David Tennant.

 

I do think so . Anyway the first half season was great ... I'm looking forward the see the second part
