    Hi
Small problem with the server (!) i am seting up, in that the NIC stops working every so often :( LOL Not good.
Its an onboard Intel NIC, and it says hardware failure in the status app. But after a reboot its fine. I havent tracked down the source of the problem, but it happens when transfering large (say 3gb+) chunks of files. I thought intel NICs were good.....
Any ideas why, or how to fix?

Try disabling the onboard NIC and running a PCI version for awhile.

Sure, I can understand that...but I meant it as a troubleshooting measure. If your drivers are up to date and all that shtuff, then using a different card for awhile will help you to determine the cause of the problem.

What OS is this? latest drivers? I second the idea of using a PCI nic to test, just to make sure its not a loose conection or a bad end on a cable or such.. /me remembers the OSI model.. 99% of falures lie in the physical layer.. oy vey.. lmao
