I have tried putting the r700 tag thing on a shortcut and running FAH.... but it just sits and says "searching for blah blah"... and it continues and continues. After 5 attempts I turn it off... Anyone have an idea what else to do?
Don't think drivers for FAH on HD5xxx cards have been released yet. Stanford are working on them from what Ive read.

Make a shortcut for folding@home on your desktop, then open properties of the shortcut and see the target field, "place/place/place", you have to put "-forcegpu ati_r700" (do not include quotes in inserted text) after that with a space separating the two. Its not the most stable method of folding but it does work to a degree, you just have to remember to launch it from that shortcut. Note: I have a HIS 5770 eggshell design, that's how I got it to fold, it has a lower ppd then the 4870 but I suspect better drivers may fix that. I had around 2650 ppd in FahMon with it. You must have the shortcut for it to work, and the space separating the two. Edit: do you have your firewall blocking it? that might also be the problem.
