Hello, just checked the dolar rate from XE currency converter 1.00 GBP = 1.78598 USD This is the worse its been in over 25 years and looks like its dropping more as yesterday it was around 1.81 Tell me your views
Plays havoc at work because all diamond prices are done in dollars. So something that was $2000 (£1000) six months ago is now 10% more (£1100ish)!
Gah, all the money in my Full Tilt Poker account is in dollars >_< Should have cashed out a couple of months ago...
yer the usd is alot stronger than it was a few months ago.... but yes the higher rate is better for us brits buying stuff from you! lol Josh
mmmmm i'm sure the worst for 25 years is bogus.. http://www.boj.or.jp/en/type/stat/boj_stat/fx/tame0303.htm went to us that month & under 1.6 $=£!
It was that long ago we only got $1.40 to the £ . . . so $1.78 is fairly good . . . just not as good as the amazing $1.90+ we have enjoyed the last year or so. It's the euro exchange rate for the £ that's bad bad bad
Yep- the dollar is certainly stronger than it was a few months ago. Americans can now buy more for their money and we can buy less for ours, thus their currency is strengthening to an extent.
Your not Alistair campbell? repeating stuff thats false ? We could end up in a recession because people took too much notice of falsehoods like this.. I've just proven the 25 years bit is false and whilst 1.79 is down 20cents its still 20+ cents better than 2003. so hardly disaster mode? Anyway they reckon higher dollar will drop oil price so we shall see?
Im off to Florida, then the Caribbean through december and january - I'm now wondering if I would be better getting some $'s now rather than later :-s
I wonder in which direction it'll turn after the upcoming elections. Let's go dollar, let's go, (clap, clap).
I'm going to Florida in 2010 and I brought £1200 in dollars about 2 months ago...got over $2 dollars to the £1... Took a gamble, but the last time I went I got $1.56 to the £1
