so a few years ago, i used Loomis to send a package off, and it got there smashed to bits (across to east coast US). they reimbersed me with one free shipping thing or whatever wherever i wanted, so i later shipped another package do east coast canada and they lost it that was it i didnt touch them again now they are under new ownership, and are more-or-less known as DHL now, or dhl loomis (http://www.dhl.ca/) i decided i'd give em another shot...the most expensive thing i sent through them, worth like $250 to me, LOST, and not there or along the way, it was lost here, in vancouver, and they have no idea where the hell it is. how dumb is that? stupid ********...never ship DHL or Loomis again, and you guys should do the same of 3 packages sent with them, all have been broken or not received sorry if this seems more of a rant, well i guess it is i hope they go out of business again...and soon..
I always use FedEx for packages > 15lbs and USPS Priority Mail for the rest. Not once have I had a problem.
Never use TNT in the UK, they're really crap. Smashed the hell out of some (very expensive) packaged medical equipment. No idea how, the boxes are crash tested to 3 metres and it was broken open. Was very funny when delivery guy went to deliver and I almost killed him with the ragged cardboard!
didn't they buy out airborne express or bought into them or something of the such? i know airborne express is now part of them because you see a bunch of DHL guys driving airborne express vans that haven't been painted bright yellow yet.
We love DHL at work - every over week we have to send in the lost/damaged parcel insurance forms... Our dispatch team would have nowt to do if it wasn't gor them!
Sort of. They still operate as two seperate companies. If you have a DHL problem, Airborne will not talk to you and you will be transfered. They are using the resources of each comapny (I.E. planes and last mile delivery) to attempt to compete with FedEx and UPS. Depending where any how you want to ship, makes the difference on weather you are using DHL or Airborne. Confusing but not a problemn since I won't use anyone but FedEx.
Same here, mine involves, ALWAYS chasing them up. They are based about 4miles from me, so its stupid really...
Ha! Consider yourself lucky as you can just pop down to their depot. The closest one from where I used to live was almost 15 miles away!
any time i order stuff from thinkgeek, i use the airbourne method, costs slightly less, and ups has a funny habit of just leaving packages at the front of the building. and when you live in a building with 60 units, that doesnt always have the best types of people living in it, you dont much want that happening with something you just plopped 200 bucks down on. fedex is really good about helping you track stuff down when you call them, dealt with them a bunch through work. it's pretty bad when you dont have a tracking number, but if you get the right person, they'll help you find it based on the pickup address and date. all in all i prefer to just go pick stuff up when i can.
We use TNT for all our laptops at work & we've only had 2 damaged & they were both sent out on the same day. I love CityLink, the drivers in our area are really friendly... and scared of caterpillars Heh, funny you should mention ThinkGeek. I will never use AirBourne Express ever again. They have screwed me over so many times it's untrue. They've never managed a delivery yet without losing it somewhere at Heathrow for a few weeks. They even tried to charge me a holding fee for this once
Yeah, DHL bought out Airborne. I've had to use them a few times from work as Dell uses them for return shipping. I've not had any problems with them returning stuff - It's actually really easy to schedule a pickup but I wouldn't use them shipping personally.
how does being friendly and scared of caterpillars make your business better if you cant get your job done. i had sent out 2 packages that day, the one that was lost is taost, and the otherone that i sent to a user here, half way across the country, has been missorted and routed to east coast. now what in the hell do you say to that. ill never use them again, because now my shipment has been delayed which makes the recieval of my package delayed even more. all i have to say to them is one thing: may the noose snuggly find its way around your neck dhl ...and may a strong gust of wind knock the chair from beneath your feet.
I have to say we've used both DHL and CityLink at work and not had any problems. I did have a real problem with the royal mail's Parcel Force (or whatever they're called now). I was out when they tried to deliver a parcel to me, so they delivered it to a neighbours house. That's all fine, but they neglected to tell me this fact, so 3 weeks later i phone the company i ordered from who told it it was delivered the day after, to my neighbours house. When i spoke to my neighbour (a very unsavory character) he told me his "friend" was the one who received the parcel and he then buggered off and sold it for drugs!! I took several heated phone calls before i got a refund and i now avoid using Parcel Force as much as possible.
your neighbour's so-called "friend" should be beaten up, stealing your package and selling it for more drugs, what a ****ing loser man...
