Are we looking forward to this? Obviously will never beat the original as played on the PS1 and some of the series has been lacking shall we say.

    Doom Official Cinematic Trailer.

Yes. Although you'd have thought they could have come up with a few new ideas in the last 20 years. Same weapons, same monsters, same crappy droning music.

its meant to be a selling point that it will be nostalgic to see the original 1993 enemies in 2016 graphics.

It'll have to do better than the crash-tastic (if it'll actually start) beta.

My beta started, eventually, where I discovered it was multiplayer which is not for me.

The majority of betas (especially open) are just for the multiplayer, they're used to test high numbers of players. Single player testing is usually a much smaller scale.

I'm paid to test games btw :)

You could probably swap "Doom" with "Duke Nukem" and all of our conversations about DNF, before it came out, would make perfect sense. Being ironically outdated doesn't excuse being outdated.

I think the best revisits are ones that add new stuff beyond graphics. Far Cry is a good example; every installation has incrementally added new gameplay features and slightly shifted the design and tone. I like that. It risks alienating some players, but it discovers far more new ones along the way.

The market for the original 'Doom' gameplay experience is now tiny and difficult to please. The market for a new gameplay experience with the Doom aesthetic plastered over it is probably huge.

I am going to look at videos etc when they come out and see what this "Advanced Movement" system is like as, if it's like the COD one then I am as the dragons say "I'm Out".

Well, that was disappointing! OC'd 750Ti can't keep a stable 30FPS in the Beta.. Which makes the game MORE demanding/ less optimised than Star Citizen? (Note that's on the lowest possible settings on DOOM and mid settings, 1080p at SC)

Polaris/Pascal needs to hurry up it seems!

Game is very pretty, great level design.

It has that option to be the demon, kind of like the beast in Dying Light.

Also has great special gun, I picked it up by accident and its awesome. If you right click you can see through all the walls then own players when they come around a corner.

At native of 4k, 980ti gets down a bit, its definitely a demanding game,

No VR support. The multiplayer is just an Unreal clone. Zero interest from me.
