Like it says, I've got a generic PCMCIA Compact Flash card reader for my laptop and I'm trying to find DOS drivers for it. It works great in Win98, but to save time and battery, shuttling files around in DOS seems like a great idea.

If it matters, the laptop is a Toshiba Portege 650CT (yeah, its an old P120, but it works great!)

I've been searching driverguide.com and various other CF reader manufacturers to see if I could find one that would work with it, but haven't been able to. I figured all the readers should be alike internally, so any driver should do.

have you tried looking on the laptop manufacturers site for DOS drivers for the PCMCIA slot? iirc the PCMCIA card has it's own drivers etc installed onto it already, so if you manage to get a DOS driver for the actual laptop, you should be able to do what you like...

From what I remeber seeing there are only two main makers of these Texas instruments and someone else. I remeber seeing this when looking at custom Ghost boot discs. Find these and you may have most of the stuff you need there.

Yep, I've looked all over the Toshiba site and found numerous drivers for PCMCIA but not for DOS, or at least not for a flash memory card.

I hadn't thought about the Ghost drivers though, I'll give them a try. I forget about them being able to run just about anything under DOS.
