    The BBC has released the first episode of Doctor Who: The Adventure Games. City of the Daleks was due for release on Saturday but is already available for download for free now on PC if you live in the UK.

    This is coming out of the TV liscence fee that people in the UK have to pay to watch Tele.

    So it is not strictly speaking free for the UK either!

    Stuey as Tom @ CCL pointed out we have paid for it via our TV licence.
    and the 'money grabbing jerks' part is a bit harsh you have had many free or exculsive things out in the USA which we either have to pay for here or don't get access to, let us have our turn :p

    BTW played the game last night and i'm rather impressed for a free game its well made and easy to play with good controls, and a nice simple plot, well played BBC

    BBC's done this for all Dr. Who content in the past, even upcoming episode trailers. Maybe the money-grubbing jerks bit was harsh, but it's still an irritating practice.

    Glad to hear that at least the game's worthwhile!

    It's enjoyable so far, played for like 15 mins, it also explains what the white rips that are in the tv shows are :D

    I wouldn't know how good it is because the installer uses the Beeb's crappy Geo-IP system, which insists that I'm not in the UK, despite the fact that I am and my external IP address says I am.

    Ba humbug :grr:
