basically im going away on thrusday for a few days and while i am bringing a laptop to get some work done on i will not have any access to the internet

do get any decent work done i need access to the java API, so then is there any way to download the ENITIRE java 1.4.2 API from the java webpage ( http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/docs/api/ )?

is there a program or something like that which will save the whole thing in a single archive or is there a download from sun somewhere that has the whole API in it that i dont know about??

    cheers

You can get programs that will download entire sites, or parts of sites (normally you set the depth that they will recurse through all links). The easiest way to grab the Java API would be to just download the zip from sun.

    http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html

About halfway down the page there's a section for documentation and a link to 'download'. And there is of course documentation available for older API versions if required.

If anyone actually would like website downloading software... I use webreaper [ webreaper.net ].

Works well for small time sites, and it's free. Haven't found anything that I can recall using for free.
