We've tried numerous times to get B&D to send us one but haven't had much luck so far! If you head over to the modding section, you'll see a number of rotary tool reviews.

Thanks for the review. I think I'll try this out and maybe mod it.

Could potentially work - the cooling issues were due to excess plastic in the cooling vents. Remove this and it would likely run much cooler. I'll put my professional cap back on now and say you do so at your own risk and this is not guaranteed! :D

Over the last few years I've tried a couple of different cheap rotary tools before finally buying a Dremel 300 (with the flex shaft) a few months ago.

The Dremel is absolutely fantastic- I can't recommend it enough, it easily justifies the extra £20 or £30- it's very comfortable (even over long periods of time), easy to use, there are a fantastic amount of attachments, it inlcudes a decent instruction booklet and most of all it actually does the job well. The Flex Shaft is great for detail work as well.

I had the draper until I bought a dremel 300 yesterday. The draper was ok, it did its job but it actually started to burn my hands during long usage, and my vents were much better formed than your one looked. The dremel is far more comfortable and didn't even feel warm after long usage compared to the draper.

The thin cutting disks on the draper are a bit of a double edged sword, they are quite precise, but relatively easy to break if you aren't careful.

Needless to say the dremel is a much better bit of kit.
