i went to see DT the other day at the hammersmith apollo, went to both nights. they were amazing shows. On the second night they played dark side of the moon, which was more of a note for note recital. All in all i had never seen anything as great in my life. was anyone else there?
woot good to see DT get some mention!! Me and my mate went both nights aswell, was well worth the 180 miles from manchester with a hangover! We traded our tickets and £40 for some stalls K row tickets for the first night! Not bad considering the tickets we had were circle row V :S! And the second night we traded them for some circle A tickets which isnt great but better than the circle Y ones we had! I liked london more than I thought I would and the beer isnt that expensive... unless you go to the hard rock cafe, £3.20 for fosters and £2.80 for a john smiths we didnt stay very long there! But yeah the dark side of the moon half of the second night was very very good. Massive applause after that and when they played TSCO for the encore! Where were ya sat been? Oh and did you get one of those free CD's they were handing out in the queue, me and my mate didnt think they were very good!
i was upstairs. yeah i got one of those CDs i thought it was very average. i traveled from morpeth, aroudn 15 miles from newcastle so never mind from manchester!!! but yeah was one hell of a show, which was your favourite part?
Wow thats some distance! We though we were hardcore! We had a few people from hungary I think it was in the b&b we were in so i guess they beat us both Cant understand why they'd play wolverhampton though and not manchester or newcastle last time they were here they did. My favourite bit on the first night was either when they played under a glass moon in the first half cos thats the first ever DT track I heard which really got me into them or when they opened the second set with as I am. For the second night I was really getting into lie but was abit upset they didnt play voices and the whole floyd set was brillaint I didnt think i was gonna enjoy it that much cos im not a massive floyd fan but it was cool all the same! I esp liked the song with teresa, ok it was 10 mins of her going wwwwoooooaaaahhh woooahh and stuff but it was alright what about ya self?
that song was called great gig in the sky comes before money and after time. i think the first set of the second night was gonna be either the mirror or in the name of god. the first night i would go for fatal tragedy and metropolis. although tbh Dark side of the moon is my favourite album so overall i preffered the second set of the second night.
Gah, I'm so jealous! I barely missed them in Chicago in the beginning of August, really angry at myself. DT Cheesecake, one of the few bands I totally respect and admire for musical talent and that I never get tired of. A DSotM set would have been so cool too
