Modding Dremel 400 v 400 XPR

    I managed to get mine in B&Q of all places. Works well enough, but the spring in the clamp mechanism is a bit flimsy.

    ouch, i think ive missunderstood, lol. Thought u meant a ratchet chuck for dremels. I will most likely get one of those keyless chucks soon tho. D'ya think the dremel one will be a bit sturdier? I know Bosch have used Rohm keyless chucks on there drills as i have one

    For what it's worth, you may want to consider the 4000 over the 400 XPR. (Brief comparison via ToolGuyd)


    Dremel's drill-style chuck is intended for small drill bits and the such, While you can probably use it with certain bits, it's best to use the collets for any work that might produce side forces on the bit.
