    Soup b...it-tech.net

Looking to get me a Dremel like tool, I have a lot of fun with my angle grinder but it isn't so good at home dentistry (not precise home dentistry anyway) so need something small.

Found this thing on ebay which is DAMN cheap... does this mean it's sh*t? Probably.
Any pointers? Don't really wanna spend much more than about £40 but don't know what I'd get for that.

I know you'll all be able to help me! Thanks.

Tooled-up was the site I was trying (obviously not very hard) to think of!

I can strongly recommend them. I've bought a lot of stuff off Tooled-Up, and a lot of stuff off eBay.

All I can say is, buy nice or buy twice.
Although having just looked at that link I'm not insinuating Draper are completely ****, but they do just rebrand Chinese stuff, so quality is variable. 20 years ago they were considered bottom of the barrel but today I would have said they were just a bit "meh".

I still cheap out on consumables (cut off discs, drill bits etc), though. They may break a little easier, but you can get so many more for the same price you still end up saving.

While we're on the topics of cheap suppliers, ukdrills.com are great. <£1 each for cobalt HSS bits. I've also bought taps, hole saws and step bits from them - all great quality and good prices. I know I sound like an advert, but if you want this stuff from B&Q, you pay three times as much.

I ended up buying the £37 one.
As for cheap consumables... These alright?

I'd buy the real deal accessories. I got fed up of buying cheapo 200 bit accessory kits in B&Q - they just don't last as long, and are probably a false economy in the end.

Point in fact - no name reinforced cutting wheel: buggered (i.e in little bits spread over the garage) after two cuts. Dremel reinforced wheel - still going - it's just smaller than it was, and is still able to cut.

I dunno where to get them but i've got bucket loads of black and decker accessories they seem to last just fine. I got them from a local outlet shop which has since passed on.

Been using it a lot today, gone through a few disks (got a biiig Dremel branded pack) few broke, most just became really small.
It's been so handy for cutting up my car, getting to the little bits the angle grinder can't reach (such as that last door hinge bolt).
Definitely a good purchase. My tool list is steadily growing!
