I'm kinda lazy and hate going to the store, and Im looking for a good(cheap of course) website for a new dremel and a few dozen extra attachments, anyone got any good recommendations? mines kinda ancient and is starting to smoke lol(bought it used years ago)
What country are you in? That's going to make a big difference... Try using the Google Product search, that's always useful for me tbh.
I assume you mean "there was a google product search?" what i think he means is search dremel in google and see what you come up with.
whoa thats awsome! i always look st uff up to buy on google and get blogs/reviews... try harborfreight, they have a huge set of accesories for cheap. ALways check amazon too for low prices
You also might want to consider looking at a cheaper non-branded model for doing your heavy duty hacking and bashing and keeping the Dremel for the delecate stuff. For example, here in the UK I have come across quite a few versions of a hobby tool with attachments for £15 - Aldi is particularly good for this if you can ever get one in stock. You can also get them in some of the big name DIY stores such as B&Q or Homebase but they are a bit more expensive. This option means that if you use it and burn it out then you've only spent about a quarter of the price of a Dremel plus you've got a bundle of tools left over. I have to say I find that the Aldi version of the cut off wheels in particular seem to be a bit more robust than the actual Dremel versions. If you do stick with just a Dremel then can I suggest that you get yourself a flex-drive, this means that if you are going to do some heavy duty cutting then its the bearings in the flex-drive that take the pounding and not the Dremel itself. Currently in the UK you can get the Dremel 300+ from the Dremel website for about £60 +p&p which comes with a small kit of accessories and a flex-drive (worth about £35 alone) but my local B&Q were selling it for £45 - so I grabbed one, not sure if it was a mistake or not but I couldn't ignore that one.
