Windows Dual Boot XP

    Hi all,

    I want to know if/how i can format the empty space on my HDD, atm its all used for this XP install, is there i way i can unformat empty space, and use it to install 64bit xp on??

    any 3rd party software i can use? can i do it!?

    Yeah you can - Partition Magic.

    But it's not free ;)

    would that allow me to partition in windows, then boot of the 64bit cd and install to that partition?

    Knoppix LiveCD has 'qtparted' I believe is the program that can unformat spaces and shrink your current NFTS partition to make some space for 64bit

    Ask yourself how much trouble XP 64 is actually worth. If you'd also like the space for Vista or Linux or something else that will work, that's one thing. But my understanding is that XP 64 was a horrible sin just shy of Millennium.

    XP 64 is working fine for me atm!.. appart from one driver i cant find ;)

    I really like Acronis Partition Expert .. better than Partition Magic, try to get that somewhere.
