Dual Digital PCI Freeview TV Tuner

This card installs into a PCI slot. Because of the bandwidth limitation of PCI the second tuner feeds into a USB2.0 port from the back of the card.

Digital TV needs more then 133MB/s? Thats..intresting, especially considering DVD quality recordings come in at around the 11MB/s mark tops. PCI should be more then sufficient for two digital streams, even with extras like soundcards using the bus.

Welcome to bit-tech though numskull :)

Anyway, the original link doesn't work, and if it is actually PCI-E as was said, then thats usefull in as much as that we've all got tonnes of 1 and 4x PCI-E slots sitting doing nothing, its about time something came out to use 'em, not that 1x PCI-E actually offers that much over old style PCI.

Fusion HDTV DVB-T Dual Freeview Digital.

HDTV @ 1080p can be up to 25Mbit, so twice that, plus other data and considering it's a shared bus and you're using probably close to half the whole PCI bus continually isnt good.

There was that PCIe one in the FS forum a few days ago.

I'm pretty sure no DVB-T cards can recieve HDTV content, I may be missing something or just plain wrong, but thats what I thought. Even if it were up to 25MB/s, it won't be that most of the time, and good luck finding two HDTV channels in the uk or europe as a whole(DVB-T is mostly used in europe and the UK), I know its possible, but its not very likely that you're going to be using much more then about 20MB/s even if you're recording 24/7, so PCI is fine.

Dont look at me, I didnt invent it or NAME it. Maybe they just plumped on a single PCI and incorporated a standard USB one on the same PCB and called it a "dual".

Most DVB-T cards can receive HDTV content, it just isn't yet broadcast in Europe yet. All of the TV networks in Asia/Australia broadcast in HD using DVB-T, they have been for around 18 months. The Nebula DigiTV cards and the Fusion cards are both used widely in Australia for receiving HDTV.

Intresting stuff, didn't realise that. Even with HDTV streams coming over through it though, I still don't think anything more then PCI is neccesary.

The Terratec card in the first post can apparently be bought direct from them via this link.

Kustompc do the terratec card not sure if its in stock though, Numbskull does speak the truth about hdtv from dvb-t cards, infact if they do mpeg4 HDTV here the pc dvb-t cards should be able to cope with a software upgrade. France already use it on their pay for tv dvb-t signals.

Every single one of the stock they were allocated were pre-ordered... such that they never actually appeared for sale in their shop [to my knowledge] :eeek:
