Thats exactly what I want to use it for. Someone posted a card somewhere in these forums that ran about $100 that did what I wanted, anyone know where it was?

im using an agp card and 2 matrox millenium pci cards to run 3 21" crt's, had no problem setting them up just plugged the cards in let them install then connected the monitors, not a problem if your running XP. then just used the display properties to activate them. Using ultramon as well make knowing whats on each screen a dodle as you can have it display a seperate task bar for each monitor

http://www.matrox.com/mga/products/mill_pseries/p750.cfm not $100 but a very nice card, bit out of my price range though.

Jeez... $235... That's expensive considering that it will replace my x300.... Still a very nice card.

Just be Prepared. Dual monitor is addictive. You can never go back (it's like broadband).

It was a joke, I know what a 24" Dell looks like...and you've just made matters even more tempting :( Can't decide between dual 17"s or a 20/24" TFT right now.

    I now officially hate you.

But then, my laptop has a 17" WUXGA screen 1920 x 1200 and it's BEAUTIFUL.

Only problem is a 24" costs a hell of a lot more than a couple of 17" monitors. Does it need dual input or run off one?

It runs off of a Single DVI (or VGA if you want)

If you cant afford the 24" the 20" is less money (and comparable to dual 17s I'd say)

And currently £352.44 incVAT on special at http://www.aria.co.uk/specials.asp

It looks nice, and would be amazing to have two- but is it worth paying twice as much as a 17" for an extra 3"? I'd really love to have a widescreen, but I'm not excactly rich and would really like to be able to have two apps open side by side all the time. Thanks for helping btw :)

I do music work so widescreen is nicer as I can have all the control/tool boxes open and still have plenty of space.

I used to run dual monitors, at one point two 17" CRTs and then a 17" flat panel and 15" flat panel... Was a bit overkill to be honest. Was handy when I was doing video editing to have a bit more space. And having msn open and usable whilst playing games was a bonus. But in the end I sold one of the screens and never looked back, its not THAT great IMO.

Daul monitors is great for dev - you can have your dev enviornment on one side and the other side can have the user enviornment on it.

2 are nice anymore is overkill imo. I've tried a 3x 21" setup at a mates house found it far too large and too many screens for my liking.
