Well I right now have my computer running off of two power supply's. One AT the other ATX. The AT is sitting outside of the case and is powering 3 of the 4 hard disks, while the ATX powers the 1 hard disk and the main board. I read somewhere I shouldn't run components that ground by other means (IDE, SATA, SCSI) off of different power supplies if the power supplies do not have a ground wire connected between them. Is this true? So far everything runs fine.

I heard that you have to hook the 2 power supply with ground ( black Wire )

But I'm not sure , They say for every thing to get better performance !!

    Good luck , CK

I always thought you had to connect the green wires, and a black wire connected too on the ATX connector to the mobo, so they'd startup at the same time

Ones AT though, I'm sure I could wire in a relay, but I'm just concerned about, damaging my hard disks.
