Whilst i've got a 4 hour car ride with an electronics lecturer comming up i'd rather not bring it up for the sake of the non-techies sitting in the afore mentioned car, but here goes.

I've got a UPS, a Belkin 1200VA jobbie, now i want to go dual PSU (Targans)
but the output of the PSU is 3 differn't ports on 3 differnt phases (or such is my understanding) Now whislt say having one PSU for gfx cards + CPUs + 2 Hdds then another for the other HDDs, there should be enough resistance on the common voltages to stop the PSUs trying to level each other out.

But will they be okay on differn't phases, i can't see why not, as its DC they output, so it shouldn't really matter (if its smooth enough).

    any thoughts?

I have often thought the same, different parts of our house are on different phases and we have a wired network... but never had any problems...

I would be enclined to say no probs but i dont know, i think you have pretty good logic with the DC.

Shouldn't be a problem. especially if they are grounded (ground is the same as the 0V line on the low voltage side of the PSU.

Besides, the AC is getting converted to DC when it enters the PSU circuits, so.
