Hey cheers guys...........i'll try and explain the HD saga at a later date but for now there i got a little bit of an update... I decided to install everything standard ie PSU and HD etc just incase there were any RMA's that needed making which turned out to be totally straight forward......well apart from a bios flash to version 1.1 on the Tyan m/b so it recognised the new Dual Core Opterons but apart from that not one single problem. i realise now why Nexxo has been running dual CPU's....this thing is so stable and cool.........CPU-1 22 degrees CPU-2 21 degrees but i would expect this to rise once the front end of the case is in place (which will block air flow to the rad) and i start to stress them a bit Anyway, pulled everything back out and had to slightly mod the PSU so it fitted properly but nothing major and then added a Nexus fan controller... In its standard form but as it wasn't going into a drive bay it had to come to bits I've mounted it this way before to the Fliyin Banana but here goes again...first mask the top of the case off again to protect it mark out where to drill the holes and drill then is just a case of deburring the holes, fastening the controller into place using the nuts and adding the silver knobs! This is the first case i've been able to use the flip up USB thingy due to fitting rads into the other three While i had everything back out of the case i LED moded all the blocks and fitted 3mm LED to them all which kinnda looks nice so i'll finish with a few pictures of them fitted and lit up............i've now got to read up on how to set the BIOS up properly as there is some stuff like "Hammer Configuration" that's all a bit new to me and really want to get the best from this system, not surprisingly
bugger me THAT IS AWESOME!!!!! i cant believe how AMAZING that looks, i super badly want one of those controllers now!!! soooooooo bad! whats the max wattage they can control per channel? and where can i get one!!! i soooo want one i want to see what you bench with this beast :O your temps are awesome
Love the lighting reminds me of underwater type thing. YOu know where like aqariums use have lights in bottom of hugh tanks. Is that sticking the fan controller a regular mod for you. If i remember correctly you did it to a couple cases havent you. Anways i like it that is plain words to explain it I like it.
is it me or is that bottom card VERY bent? http://www.coolercases.co.uk/images/dualmaster/35.jpg makes it look like it anyways love the lighting, but you NEED to put something over the green lights! I hate them in my mod too, I've just been too lazy to do anything about it. The blue looks good, much unlike the many bl00 mods of days past. Temps sound very good, but I wanna see the load temps. Not to mention you're one of (if not the) only people I've seen that can consistantly make 1/2" look good. So with four cores.... oh how unfair. I still can't get over how smooth hyperthreading felt in the desktop since having gone A64. So you can go ahead and Xvid encode a movie while DVD shrinking another while recording a TV show all in the background of some Far Cry lovin'? Oh how I hate you.
this case is turning out so nice I think it would be a shame if he did anything less than swap them out for some blue ones
I meant just cover them... replacing SMD diodes, on a $500 video card no less, is extremely difficult - there's really no sense in doing that.
He's got a point... looks like the black thing where the 2 waterblocks join together is forcing them apart... doesnt look too healthy either :S
The LED mod looks sweet, great work Paul. I just love the contrast between the blue and the copper on the NV-68's
It ain't all about fun in this case. Kill a 500$ gc... naw, that ain't worth it. Even though I'd have liked it more if you'd give it a try. Awwww... ******** it, give it a try.
We all did. But after Firehed mentioned it, why should anyone else ask the same again? Tidy this up... gc have feelings too.
looking awesome indeed i didnt even realist those chips were dual core (mmm 4 cores ) those LEDs in the video cards look very nice, that bottom one looks worryingly bent tho and im sure its not an optical illusion, yet seems impossible that it would fit in the slot when that bent
that looks VERY scarily bent :S either that or its an optical illusion, but DAMN that is massively bent!
I'd almost say to unscrew the side of the bottom one that way the whole thing can bend, not just torque the corner like that (which is worse for the board I'd imagine; I could imagine a ram chip popping up)
