Looking at those 3 comparison shots of the same street, I think it's nice that those same 3 buildings are still there I watched some documentary about that new Burj Dubai building... pretty high tech stuff in that thing. I agree that those islands are nuts though, especially that world map one.
they sink. But thats why they have dutch engineers Is it just me, or is that first video CK posted a CAM?
I got a big email that had been passed around about a month or less ago, showing practically all those pictures. I was really freaked out & amazed by it all, and it quoted wiki i think to say that oil was 6% of it's economy and the majority was business, trading and stuff like that, as cpemma said. That snow world is huge & there's an amusement park getting built which is like 3x the size of disneyland i think, heaps of crazy stuff. They are definitely showing off cos there is so much land available, but at the rate they are going, it's gonna fill up pretty quick, the coastal land atleast anyway, which will keep prices up there at the very least.
If you have to ask, you can't afford it. The Dutch engineers had to design the whole thing to be self-cleaning by tidal flow, that was the clever bit.
Hey can you tell me the name of the documentary Please ? I love watching Documentaries, Specially The BBC ones. Thank you I don't think so. Maybe the closed the see some where.
okay I found what are you talking about. This the New ski city, Called Ski Dubai. It's very big. This the new Disney world if you want call it. I don't know the name. But they are saying it will Smoke Disney land. Dubai Land. The biggest mall the the earth. You can't walk on it. You need a car or some thing smiler. I saw it with my eyes. It's not completed but they are working on it. This the Dubai Land location. Notice HOW big it is. This the First underwater hotel I told you about. it's 200 floor under see as I heared. I'm not sure but I will find more info later. Also they are saying Dubai have 25% - 30% of the world cranes Enjoy this for now. I will go study now
The Petronas Towers is a stunning building it has a gleam to it that you dont see in pictures I think its the best building I have seen so far.
CK, i think that's 200 rooms under the sea.... not 200 floors under the sea..... that would be like 600 meters under the sea...... vertically. edit: at least they are drug free......
You could always just gangrape a girl. She's get some prison time but that'd be the only negative.....
Yep, some woman was taking Codeine-Paracetamol tablets from her doctor in the UK and they took them off her and threw her in jail for several years because Codeine is an opiate. The place looks incredible - that was an awesome set of pictures at the top, but the morals are so vastly different and it's only if you have enough money that you can get anywhere.
What do you expect from a fundamentalist totalitarian monarchy that has insane amounts of National wealth and power? Absolute power corrupts absolutely... But if it makes you feel better, within 50 years the oil will run low and the bubble will burst, and Dubai will be a wasteland of shiny, desolate, worthless palaces. Major is right. The place will implode.
Nothing more, of course. But I'm not ignorant about the place, most people are. Many people go there thinking it's a nice rich holiday destination, and fail to realise what they're propping up with their tourist dollars and euros. As a country, it should be boycotted untill it collapses.
cpemma says that they only depend 6% from oil..... so they may survive.... and i love the quote: "Absolute power corrupts absolutely..." its so true
For the UAE tourism is now more important than oil, they along with Qatar, and Bahrain are making great strides to sustain their economy's after the oil boom.
