Announcing my new site dedicated to the moddage of my Dragon (and entire computer set up): Qu@cK's PC Page. I'm still a to all things modded, so this should be great fun keeping up to date with new pics The first page of the site will be just the spec of both my computers, any other pages after that will contain pictures and text about what I have been doing. Pics are required in this forum, so here's one of my Alpha fitted (with the YS Tech fan): And another showing partial routing of cables (I've improved the layout since this pic was taken): I will be adding more pics to both my site and this thread as time goes by and mods progress. If you're really lucky I'll take some new pics tonight to show the current set up, which is likely to change soon... when you're busy fiddling around with new components etc, you never seem to be able to keep pics up to date. edit: Although I did pimp my site at the top, I will be keeping this thread up to date... I'm not just going to expect people to only visit my page to see what's been going on.
Ok, a couple new pics. Here's my Alpha with the Mechatronics fan with 2 fans sucking air out the back. You should be able to see how tidy the wiring in there is now. I don't think I can really do much better a job of it (without spiral wrapping everything - which will come later) A lonely Antec fan... there should be another one just above it, but there was a problem with my order and it'll have to wait. There are a couple more pics on my site
round them cables! btw why didnt u choose the tri light fans? it looks promising, im thinkin a bl00 cold cathode to match the antec fan.maybe some better sinks on ure vram too.
I won't be painting the inside of the case, and the outside is already blue. The cables will be rounded, gimme a week or so I personally prefer the blue lighted fans to the tri-light ones. I probably will be putting a blue CC in after I've put a window in the side panel (I'm still a bit hesitant to cut my panel), otherwise you just can't see it.
You going to replace all of your fans with blue Antec ones? or do you have something else (possibly innovative?) planned?
Wow, your side blowhole fan is dirty. Lets get some outside pics too. I agree that the tri-lights arent the best either, personal opinion though. And round them cables too Off topic: whats up with the post times. It says I posted before quack's last post and the post before mine was posted about 2 hours before. Maybe my computer is just messing up *hits computer really hard..... thud..... oops*
My entire room seems to generate an annoying amount of dust, if you look closely on some of the pics you can see a coating of dust on all the components too...and if you think the fan is dirty you should see the cover on the other side! I have to clean it off every other day. I should probably filter the air going in, but then I lose a lot of airflow. Never fear, those ugly flat cables will be rounded, as I've said before.
think got +- the same case you sould hang 3 antecs in front looks like this i've got 5 of them and 1 bleu cold cathode and a red cold cathode also gt some spirab and some rounded cables
Stop suggesting rounded cables please!! I am dealing with it! The rest of the cables will eventually be wrapped in clear spiral wrap. I will have one more blue Antec fan in the front, and that will probably be all for lighted fans. At some stage I will be getting a blue CC, but not until I do the window.
When you gonna round them cables quack? The dust easy easy to spot on the SoundBlaster cards since they are black. I know because mine is really dirty too. I got some filters on my intake fans and right now are allowing about 3% airflow through them. I think I should clean them. But I feel you with the dust thing, my room is really dusty too.
Mr T, dont worry, I dont have any money anymore either. After buying all these computer parts and my laptop I cant afford to do anything except drive back and forth to school. But at least I dont have my ghetto hard drive mounting anymore (wow, that sounded bad ) I rearranged my components to fit everything in the case today.
Money, Oh, That was the stuff I used to have before I had a family, 2 cars and a house. Now I find myself destroying/hacking up old pieces of equipment just to steal the relevant parts. Found a nice LCD screen that is parallel compatible, and the chips I needed to make a Serial to parallel converter the other day. Another home grown mod project is coming I feel. I have case fans from about 15 different power supplies, and even a little one that was on a Pentium 66 overdrive chip. What brand? Who the heck cares... But I do have rounded cables. One rig, silver ones from OCSystem, The other one, hand-done w/blue electrical tape. (The airflow is actually better in the homebuilt one, Not as thick as the others and easier to manipulate, but it looks pretty hokie.) But I won't tell you you should round those cables. Rounded cables are a matter of opinion. If your opinion is that airflow is NOT important, then by all means, keep it like it is. (j.k.) Pretty cool case there by the way.
