I think DNF will sell a lot more than expected. It has big name recognition and controversy too.
I really can't imagine not have a blast playing this though I doubt it will be a masterpiece. Thing is, it doesn't have to be
I am going to have a lot of fun with this one. It really doesn't matter oif the graphics don't rival Crysis 2 - it's a Duke Shooter, we have been waiting for years, and it doesn't look like they have toned it down for the censor.
My only issue is the rumour of driving side games - I hope this isn't as rubbish and pointless as the side games in the CoD/MoH games. If the Duke has a car, I expect him to be in the back showing a nice lady the quality stitching in his new uphostelry, not driving it!
I want it to be over the top with a stupid story line and a whole lot of fun!
But then again, I've always felt Raven Software made more of Id's tech (gamewise) than Id itself did.
Yes it was! A mate of mine is the OP, was just talking to him the other day about it so amusing to come on here and see this thread bumped
I love the HD trailer thats going around.
Duly noted, this is my first and last. A long time ago I made a verbal contract that I'd manage to resurrect a thread this old; finally I found a legitimate way to do it
Is it heretical that I've never played a Duke Nukem game? The ventrilo abuse video alone makes me want to.
Except only one of the two will ever actually happen...
The best thing about DNF is that they couldn't have chosen a more ironic name given the circumstances.
Credits you deserve 10 internets for your post +rep for that
Went and pre-ordered my copy today on lunch since I canceled my original pre-order about 7 years ago. Boy don't I feel stupid now...
2nd best thing would be that all owners of Borderlands and perhaps its DLC should check their Steam accounts and see if they have "Duke Nukem Forever First Access Club Code" as part of the listed DLC.
Now, what this exactly means, I'm hoping if first access to a BETA (demo) to check it out. Fingers crossed
Which will be on piratebay/isohunt and every other torrent site with 60 seconds of release matey. In the trailer I saw my favorite chain-gun coming back to the fray
I am so stoked for DNF
Incidentally, you can preorder it now. I missed this when someone mentioned it in passing further up, but my Amazon just recommended me it. After watching the trailer five times consecutively, I'm sold. It's dumb, juvenile and obscene and I am going to buy it.
If you weren't aware of it, throw the code in here:
Nothing good yet, but a demo is one of the things listed.
Well, system requirements were released for this today;
You can now pre-order Duke Nukem on Steam £29.99 ... RRP £39.99 ...
And the Balls of Steel edition is on Game's preorder for £60:
You get a lot of very cool, very useless stuff with it. I'm tempted.
Got an email this morning, June 3 for the demo. Was hoping for sooner
I enjoyed playing the demo at the Gadget Show last month (360 version). It was stupid, over the top, great fun, plus you could batter people with faeces - exactly what I expected!
The guy there said if he were to buy any version it would be the PC version as it looks and plays nicer and will have all the console (as in user console) options available.
He also said that it was running well on nVidia cards - when I asked him about ATI cards he just raised his eyebrows!!! Oh well!
