Indeed! I am looking at purchasing the complete Stargate box set and basically all of Star Trek that I can get my hands on. I am NOT looking forward to putting it all on my media server.

so for ripping the full ISO (i've got Stargate, Atlantis and B5 to do!) whats the process??

rip the ISO with AnyDVD, then compress it with DVDshrink??

also, 90% of the time this will be used on a PC, but will these still work ok with media players like this?

    many thanks

Have AnyDVD running, rip straight from disc using DVDShrink. No need for the intermediate rip-to-ISO step. Since DVDShrink outputs what is, effectively, a DVD (whether as an actual physical DVD, or a set of DVD folders on your hard drive), anything that recognises a DVD folder structure should work.

If I recall correctly, MakeMKV can rip episodes to individual files in a single task, so you don't have to run it, say, four times for a disc with four episodes on.
