Right now I have two laptops and a desktop pc all on the same network. Is it possible to store DVDs on my main rig and view them over the network with my laptops?

(This is assuming I have DVDs that are allowed to be backed up to a personal HDD, like some indie films.)

I've done this, but with divx files...

you might be able to use Windows Media Encoder to stream media to mediaplayer on the laptops, but dunno if/how it works with DVDs, you might have to end up converting the dvd to one massive mpeg2 DVD file...

I've used the above method with divx/avi/one file movies successfully.
