In the post this morning, my mum got an envelope from the DVLA, with "Important information about your driving license" stamped across it.

I'm wondering...is possibly a speeding ticket? What do those envelopes look like?

You see, she hasn't been here for a week, since I took her to the airport last tuesday (in her car) and I'm going to join her and taking the mail today.....

AFAIK speeding tickets are issued via police systems, I'd expect they'd have markings for your local police branch.

I expect it could be notifaction of something directly related to the license, is she still using a paper license for example?

Ah that's a weight off my mind

Nah she's got the normal type, I assumed it wouldn't be anything to do with the cars as it clearly says something about licenses :S Oh well find out in a bit

If she has had the Photo card for ten years it could be telling her to get it renewed. photocard driving licences need renewing every 10 years at a cost of £17.50 and the first batch of photo card licences are up for renewal this year.

It will be to do with her licence, speeding tickets come from the police, speed camera partnership or as a court summons if the offence was severe.
