Motors dvla notification of sale/ transfer

brought a car from a dealer a few weeks ago. I got the v5c but now I have a letter saying a notification of sale/ transfer has been received for the above mentioned vehicle.


any ideas what this is about? why have I got It? never had one before even for a cat c car. anything to worry about? seem a bit odd.

 

is the v5c document in your name and address?

is there an official code on the document? if so look it up, it'll explain exactly what it is/why you're getting it.

 

i have tried but nothing seems to come up. only thing that come up is for sellers is it ban news to have this?

 

Phone them, better safe than sorry in my experience.

 

It's likely just confirming you have bought the vehicle but phone anyway as said better safe than sorry.

 

I did. all they said was to check the data is correct on file.

 

You've got an intact V5C, nothing to worry about. DVLA is just hopeless at admin.
