wasn't quite sure which section to put this in, but since it will ultimately decide which gpu i buy i put it in the hardware section.

My question is what do people think is a better technology to buy into.

ati cards seem to be cheaper and more powerful especially the 58xx upwards and they have dx 11.
    or
do i choose nividia which dose not support dx11 at the moment but has the 3d vision, i personally think this looks to be more immersive then dx 11 and ("better graphics")
not to mention dx11 has limited game support at the moment

i know the 300 serious is said to be coming out in 2010 and may have dx11 but that will be expensive and im looking for a solution now

    thanks for any reply's.

DirectX 11 everytime. Anything that's non-propitiatory. Nvidia will support DX11 too soon. And 2010 should have plenty of DirectX 11 titles, although, not all.

What about Eyefinity with surround view? That's not perfect either but it's a competing "immersive" technology.

I would seriously go an try 3DVision before you buy into it - the 120Hz monitors are typically pretty crap TN panels. To get a good one you need to look around an spend because it's premium tech.

Sometimes it's quite good but the glasses are awkward and give some people headaches and no one in the office really cares about it.
