    pom acetal (delrin) is dyable using common dye like rit. it takes it quite good, though often ends up darker on the edges. see the spec sheet chapter 8 regarding dying.

    I would never thought to try this. I'm gonna dump some in a vat right now and see what happens.

    lysol - Thanks for that. According to the spec sheet it can also be chrome plated. I might look into that as well although I suspect it might not be cost efficient. I'd never heard of 'Rit' but it seems to be readily available in the UK and seems to need 90ºC for the dye to 'take'.

    I'm still interested if anyone's tried this and hopefully have pics of the result.

    My first thought was "Why would anyone want to dye acetone?" :duh:

    Well, you obviously need to heat the stuff to dye it properly. I just took my test chunk out of blue dye, and it was brown.
