Of course it does. Moral principles are nice and all that, but they shouldn't get in the way of expediency or profit. And they sure shouldn't throw up any of those difficult philosophical life questions. For the same reason people vehemently oppose abortion, but don't care dick about children living below the poverty line. Think of morals as a small family pet. Great fun to play with, as long as it doesn't crap on the carpet or eat too much. When it gets too difficult or inconvenient, you flush it down the loo or abandon it tied to a tree somewhere.
At least stuff like this highlights how the law != the morally correct thing to do. The more people that follow their morals and not the laws of a land the better.
But marijuana is bad, don't you understand it pillages our villages and rapes our wives. We can't then that monster run loose. Look at the Netherlands were marijuana is legal, they kill babies and old people. It's even legal for homosexual people to marry
mayb you need a dose of pain and a reality check - every country has people who kill babies and old people and everyover kind of person, and gays are fine as long as they know im not, imo they make for better chances when i go out :
/me pokes woodstock with the sarcasm stick. What he meant was, holland is the rockingest free country in the /world/ - people are given rights to do plenty from a younger age than most countries, and overall people living there are meant to be happier than people living elsewhere in the world. The dutch have the right idea! edit: oh and JCG (?) saying you have nothing to add to the dscussion is not adding to the discussion
if you say so ill be honest and say i know nothing about hollands laws or anything else about holland for that matter /grabs stick and snaps it and proceeds to .....
I am Dutch and yes, compared to many countries it is pretty progressive and laid back. That can have its drawbacks: sometimes indifference, apathy or sloppiness are mistaken for tolerance. And not the whole of Holland is like Amsterdam. We have our repressed puritan little mentalities too... And Woodstock, JCG was really just being facetious.
Sadly enough you're right, prime example: Christen Unie. And don't forget the recently added xenophoby with a little help from Wilders. Were did the famuos dutch indifference gone to? I miss it. I thought the marijuana rapes women bit would have made that clear. Text doesn't give the same interaction as talking face to face does.
