    Does anybody have any recommendations for an e-cigarette?

    I'm giving up smoking but need an equivalent fix. I'm currently using a Genesis 510 and it gives me something to do but I'm not getting the flavour (perhaps I'm not doing it right), although I think it's giving me a nicotine hit (I'm not crawling up the walls, at least not yet). It certainly delivers a hit to the throat!

    With the kit you have make sure you take a slow steady draw, it might help

    I steer clear of the cig-a-like type now. Good place to start but lacking in flavor as you have found out.

    You could try a Boge cartomiser, should be a bit better but for real flavor you need to get a rebuildable atomiser using good quality silica wick or a stainless steel mesh.

    The last option with mesh can be a bit fiddly and frustrating until you get it right.

    @M_D_K

    nicotine is a stimulant, by itself (as in not paired with smoking an actual cigarette to get nicotine) it's around the same as caffeine healthwise

    that said, i'm not sold on the total 'healthiness' of e-cigarettes. there aren't any real studies that show that propylene glycol and vegetable glycerin are safe to vaporize and inhale as far as i know

    That's why I said "almost" in my post.

    @ docodine you are correct there are very few studies at the moment so It's a waiting game.

    A couple of studies and info in no particular order

    Hope the direct links are OK it all public domain.

    Needless to say stopping smoking or not using e-cigs are the preferred option but if you have to is it better to use a product containing over 4000 dangerous chemicals or on containing 10 potentially harmful chemicals..
