Considered a few options, but France always won out (and anyway, I'll be an old man, I can change my mind). :)

Well, Farage can rest assured that the EU respected at least one of his wishes. :p

But seriously: Brussels did not call this referendum, the UK government did. Nor is it calling for a second one; British citizens are. Democracy, eh?

You're aware this is an open forum and not a private message thread, right?
This is the Serious subforum, and image macros have no place here - and I say that whether they're pro-Leave or pro-Remain. If you want to post 'em, do so in the Demote thread in General.
Hey, if you can tar all the Remain voters as whining crybabies who only like democracy when it goes in their favour, I can tar all the Leave voters as Nazis. Fair's fair, after all. Or, you know, we could stop posting daft image macros and have a sensible discussion.

To sign one of the GOV.UK online petitions, you need to provide your name, your country of residence, and an email address. A verification email is then sent to this address, and you need to click on the link before your 'signature' counts.

Yes, you could set up a dozen Gmail accounts; no, you can't just put bobsmith@example.com and expect it to count as a 'signature' on the petition. I believe, though I haven't tested it myself, that while common webmail services are allowed the better-known disposable email address services are blocked.

Well at least the £350mil is now accepted which means to me it's much higher. The tip of the iceberg.

Everybody needs to chill the hell out and see what unravels, Cameron did the right thing by choosing to hold off on Art 50. and step down now we know the general mood of the population.
Westminster can knock out some brass tacks, dig into the affairs that get us here in the first place, This should turn out the real numbers people are asking for, and we might get a few more politicians kicked out or stepped down in the process.

I think we will be finding out some horrific information in the coming months that will shock and won't please ANYBODY, Across the continent.

That's the one, aye. As an aside, am I the only one who takes a childish pleasure in pronouncing his name "farrage" - like the Yorkshire pronunciation of "garage?" I also only ever refer to the man who is likely to become our next PM by his full name, Alexander Boris de Pfeffel Johnson. Cameron, though? Yeah, I typically only use words that the swear filter won't let me post...

I take pleasure in the little things.

You have to give your name and residential address which I believe is crosschecked against the electoral role before a verification email link is sent.

It certainly is not. But you go ahead and keep taking the blue pill.

The Tories which supposedly were going to be irreparably torn apart by this are already are closing ranks again. They are already backpedalling on immigration control and invoking article 50. I think that it is you who may be shocked by what is going to happen next.

Guys which one does the best Sunday newspaper to get to grips with what people are saying is going on would you say? I know ft.com (financial times) but does it do a Sunday edition?

I bet all the news papers and journalists got called in for max work on this story, it must have created enough enterprise email through out news industry to crash a few exchange servers lol

Who is buying what Sunday news paper tomorrow?

I actually have an FT.com account but I want that reading a Sunday news paper about this going on tomorrow with a cup of tea and a digestive.

I was born in 75, as long as I have been alive pretty much UK has been in EU, I actually though the EU only got joined around 20 years ago for some reason.

Bet the Sunday newspapers have a hole heap of stuff to say about this.

Just double-checked for this specific petition: there's a tickbox for "British citizen or UK resident," followed by Name, Email address, Location, and Postcode - though not house number. That'd be enough to cross-check to see if someone of your name is on the electoral register, though. So, looks like not only can you not just add "a googled email address," you also can't add multiple signatures at all. Good to know; now if only the petitions ever actually changed anything...

    Image removed.

I'm not saying remain voters are all like that, Most understand the meaning of a democratic system, However some clearly don't.
I'm sure you really don't think all leave voters are Nazi's, My grandad used to hunt and kill them, He's not here now but my democratic rights sure as hell are.

So it doesn't bother you that the vote could have been won based on those two, lets be honest, rather big campaign points? I mean we can all bang on about democracy and having our say, lets rule ourselves when in all honesty we do alright screwing ourselves on that one without anyones help.

In or out, the public hasn't really had it's say if the actual result would differ.

The danger is that Farage will be made the fall guy in all of this, and the rest of the "team" marches on.

Ready for more #Leave doublethink? :)

Here's another one, this time Hannan on that other big working class vote winner, immigration. Just one day after the result and it's not wot the voters thunk it wos gonna be, o no. "British jobs for British people"? Oh yea, about that....

    (Starts slow but persevere.)

I should have added, this is why I'm off to pastures new. If this is what now passes for politics/democracy in this country then get me the f*ck out of here, PDQ.
