That's because it's the option that dare not be named aloud at the moment, what with MPs risking being branded anti-democratic traitors conspiring to stop Brexit. But in two years if the options available are a crap deal and a really crap no-deal, ans the economic consequences have already started to bite, you can bet that voices will start to suggest that the UK does not actually have to go through with the madness. And the EU would have no problem with such reversal.

Recent polls show that the vast majority of Leave voters --like 80% or so-- believed that there would be no economic penalties. It is now pretty clear that there will be. When the poorest start to feel the rise in cost of living, they may change their mind a bit. People are nothing if not fickle.

The British democratic system is basically autocracy by tabloid: this message brought to you by the Ministry of Truth.

I think that Boris doesn't know where the hell he stands on Brexit. His behaviour seems a weird mix of "I didn't mean it" and "It's alright, I meant to do that!".

Anyone remember the predictions of housing becoming more affordable in the wake of brexit?

The tricky part is not showing you didn't plan on going through with it, ideally you'd make it sound like you wholeheartedly supported leaving the EU and hope someone else picks up the torch, that way you can blame that someone else and come away smelling of roses because you tried your best (even if you didn't).

Indeed, if they didn't plan to go through with it and the public found out they would need to find one hell of a scapegoat to avoid a bloodbath at the next general election, after all they don't want people to abandon mainstream parties and throw their votes at the likes of the Revolutionary Communist Party of Britain or the British Democratic Party.

"Trade experts in here", As in everybody here seems to be regurgetating the news like it's some form of skill set.
Bottom line, Nobody knows anything above the media and it's all speculation, no matter how hard you want brexit to fail.

If that guy is so good then surely he would be consulted by HMG?
Or is it because he is a member of ECIPE and spent the last two thirds of his career working for the EU?
Make of that what you will.

You are correct, I typo'd his surname on wiki-p, My apologies for that.

Having lived in North America during the NAFTA debacle and watching tens of thousands of jobs from my local area move to mexico for globalist profit, supporters like him don't exactly have a sterling reputation.

The wiki link is for his role, not his professional history, which is a distortion of good ethics and character.
But I have now read his wiki finally, Lets have a look shall we.

Hmm, 2008 eh! Familiar year and familiar company :miffed:

    We go on....

    Oh dear.
He seems to be part of the problem, not the solution. I would be careful beleiving what that man has to say......on everything.

When you have something that somebody wants it becomes very easy to negotaite a deal with them.
They it turn understand there are others that want soemthing you have that they want, This is what makes trading a job for somebody that understands how business and consumers operate. All parties want to walk away with as deal that is good for them, All parties understand compromise will be what they walk away with.

As far as immigration goes, all the governement has to do is have some patience, Worldwide the phenomenon is starting to unravel at a rapid pace. Everybody at some point is going to have to sort their affairs out, The governments that don't will be left behind with a heavy price.

Yawn....Fear and Loathing in Birmingham is it?

Actually he talking in a lot broader sense than the Euro, that is obvious.
If we remained in the EU, the next step was adoption of the Euro, Although the same nay-sayers about the EU army claimed the euro would not happen. We all know how that is turning out. EU prolems = more EU.

My computer is about to die, would you like to buy it?
I run a computer repair club with a lot of disgruntled members.

As for Johnny foreigner, If that was a attempt to put words to my persona, I find it a bit offensive considering my oldest son is a Costa Rican/Canadian mix and I hold two passports.

2 -3 years ago there was a bunch of infighting at the BNP, the BDP is one of the splinter parties that formed.

If they revoked the referendum, Ukip will be resurgent and we will end up with them in charge of the country which is even worse. Its going to take far too long for the economic impacts to filter through enough for people to admit we where better off in the EU.

Cats out of the bag now there is no going back, in some way or form we have to leave the EU.

Indeed, no going back on it. We will just have to make best of it, but hard to not be negative about it since no one has really presented a solid plan for a post EU Britain yet.

You seem awfully opinionated and verbose on Brexit for someone who doesn't think they can possibly know anything about Brexit - "I don't know, therefore I know"

    Does that include you?

No matter what Michael Froman's track record is, what he said has been confirmed by an independent British trade expert (and I can find plenty others). The facts are the facts no matter who says them.

    FTFY. :)

What is more concerning is that the UK government seems to be part of that set. But judging by its increasingly hysterical displacement behaviour and ad hominem attacks (rather than challenging their argument) of anyone who flags up that Brexit may be problematic, Breality is dawning on them.

Same for you: so far all you have done is attack the messenger, not challenge the argument, which seems to me an act of desperation. It is quite clear to anybody that the Leave vote was won on false promises and outright lies. So show me a Brexit plan. Show me a solid argument for Brexit not based in wishful thinking about an EU apocalypse or xenophobic fears about immigrants.

Perhaps you need to point that part out to me then as most of what i read was talking about The European Central Bank and monetary policy, and yes before you say it i did read the entire thing.

Despite adoption of the Euro being rejected many time in the past? Interesting, what makes you believe that would have come to pass?

Re: The EU army strangely with us out of the picture that's looking more likely than ever before, if you wanted less EU leaving seems the last thing you would choose.

Well obviously they're not doing a very good job at this repairing malarkey.

No it wasn't an attempt to put words to your persona, it was a reflection of how myself and many others view the rhetoric coming out of the government, media, and large percentages of people who voted to leave.

The government is after all telling us how the British public voted to control immigration despite that not being an option on the ballot paper and despite our new prime minister having failed to reduce non-EU migrants to the 10's of thousands as we were told when she was in control of the home office.

Yes. It's important to note that more people voted for Brexit than voted the Tories in at the last election. So, in order to prolong their stay in government, the party must adopt that stance.
