Yeah, our own little mini-Trump. The PVV is dropping in the polls, however. Trump's antics have been scaring people off.

Dutch politics doesn't quite work like British politics. Even if the PVV gets the majority vote, any two other parties can form a coalition and outnumber him. If he manages to strike a coalition, he'll have to temper his promises and his attitude. He can't hold a EU referendum, and he cannot legally ban mosques as he has promised. Nor can he legally ban Muslims from entering the country.

So there's going to be a lot of disappointed voters.

if somehow he gets the majority of the seats on offer then he can rule on his own - however unlikely that will ever happen

That's a lot of seats. And even then what he promises is legally impossible.

If there is one thing you can count on, that is for the Dutch to disagree with each other. Constantly.

Back on topic (kinda), I see some interesting new patterns in the information flow around Brexit. Let's see how this develops...

Yeah, lovely piece of oratory; shame about the epic piece of fail-cock delivering it.

Yeah I thought that too... wondered how many people slagging it/him off would be shouting 'this, all of this!' from the rooftops had it been literally anyone other than him saying it.

Well, he is for a large part responsible for the utter mess in the Middle East which has allowed ISIS to proliferate and has contributes to the fear of Muslim immigrants overrunning the West, which in turn was grist on the mill of the Vote Leave campaign and also contributed to Trump getting voted into office.

So yeah, that may be detracting slightly from the impact of his speech.

Anyone fancy a new job? Head of Strategy and Brexit.
Does that mean they can't find anyone suitable for the role from within the exist 400k+ unelected bureaucrats?

I think I'd want a lot more than 70k to be head of strategy and brexit. Its akin to working for a top private company so I'd be wanting at the very least a mil, plus a massive bonus if its a "success".
