I would have thought for a vehement supporter of leaving it would have been the holy grail.

Possibly not many of those amongst the civil servants.

Probably why they're having to advertise externally. Although haven't we been told it's all about PMA (positive mental attitude) so maybe those unelected bureaucrats need someone who believes leaving is going to be a good thing, i get the feeling though that any leave supporting applicant would soon come to realise working at the coal face paints a very different picture.

Well, so far whenever Brexiteers are asked what the UK is going to do about all those tricky details like participation in the Erasmus programme, scientific cooperation, Interpol, security and defense, E numbers and other food regulations, the European Medicines Agency etc. they say: "Oh, we will probably keep those, but now it will be on a voluntary basis". Like EU membership wasn't voluntary?

Turns out that Brexit means not much will change --except losing all the perks of EU membership and gaining a lot of pointless hassle for maintenance of essentially the status quo.

What's that? We're going to have to keep trucking in people from the EU post-Brexit 'cos they're doing jobs that natives think are beneath them? Well, colour me shocked.

:hehe: Yeah, but let's see if that 55-year old is prepared to work for the same wage.

Me, I want to see the Job Centre try to direct all those British unemployed to the farmers' fields.

    EDIT:

Meanwhile, Ivan Rogers' evidence to the Common Brexit Committee has just finished. Rogers laid down what the difference is between being in the Single Market and having an FTA, and what it would mean to trade under WTO rules, and what the EU's stance is to the whole negotiation. The last exchange went like this:

:hehe: Yeah, Brexit is a Bitch.

I'm liking how cheap it sounds to settle ties.

I mean, if it's only ~60bn Euro's why didn't we do this decades ago? What a deal to have no say in **** and a ****ed economy. Awesome like a foursome.

Congratulations to Paul Nuttall on his Stoke by-election victory. His proudest moment since he discovered penicillin.

It's amazing to think that he finds time to lead UKIP, what between his medical career healing sick children, being a lead researcher in nuclear fusion clean energy, and touring the world as a virtuoso violinist and doing rock concerts for charity. Just humbling. What a wonderful man.

I bet Trump thinks he's a great guy. Honestly, there's no better party leader than Paul Nuttal. He's really a great guy who's going to make Britain great again.

I'm curious how UKIP always manage to find the slimiest looking catheter bags for their MP's.

Is there an audition? Do they put out adverts?

I suspect that they just attract them by their party's sensible political ideology and mature attitude.

Or perhaps they hand out flyers at emotional support groups for inadequates. Sorry, I mean their party political meetings.

Thanks for the break, nice to see mods being consistent and impartial. I'd apologised for losing my cool but hey ho! Seems some mods like to throw their weight about, wonder if they are compensating for something??

It's a joke this thread, anyone dares to look at the subject from any other angle different to the popular one here, they get ganged up on and the mod joins in. My last word, one way or another we are leaving the EU, face facts or debate all you like, at some point we've all got to move on from where we are now. Smacks to me of a bunch of remainers with superiority complex and champing at the bit to say "told you so".

    Peace out!:thumb:

No, the "I told you so" comes later. And boy, it will be a big one. It will be, in Trump's words, the greatest "I told you so" ever. And then we'll see who is going to "move on" (but welcome back).

I don't think so, we are just fed up with leavers telling us to "get on and make a success of it".
I'm not going to support it just because of how majority voted. I a still think its a bad idea and they have failed to provide any sort of information on how its a good idea and is going to benefit me.

So far, its costing me more to go on holiday, my phone and fuel is more expensive.
I seriously doubt I'm going to get that money back once we get our glorious trade agreement.

The mod's joined in when you called someone a jumped up little ####.

Why not make a point in favour of leaving and the leave process instead of playing the victim and making brainless ad hominem remarks?

They have absolutely no argument in favour of leaving. That's why all the continued campaigning after the fact, the faux outrage at any criticism, the ad hominem attacks, the emotive arguments.

(My freelance journalist brother in the Netherlands, who it may surprise you is a strong euroskeptic could think of ten cogent, informed argument why Brexit could be a good thing. But it is the first and only time ever that I heard a decent argument for the other side).
