If a VoNC does happen and it fails she'll be safe for at least a year, and who's going to be crazy enough to want the job if it succeeds?

Apparently Gove has declined the offer of becoming Brexit secretary.

Why can't we lock them in a room with a pile of rusty spoons and say the survivor gets to go live on the side of the nearest mountain?

Seems like the overall majority of people in the Tories want to tell Maybot how to do her job while "politely" declining it themselves. Again I find myself coming back to 'cowards'..

Kind of moot really, any job he takes you wouldn't know he was there.

Well, apart from the insistence at putting a bible somewhere in the scene.

Online aid he had been offered the job, but turned it down when May didn't cave in to his demand of starting the negotiations again.

Given that she has now sidelined two Brexit secretaries, she should just abolish the post. It only exists to give a former Leave campaigner the chance to take the blame for the CF she has 'negotiated'.

May displayed stunning naivete when she stepped forward for the PM job. Which she won because:
    a) The previous spineless PM fecklessly crafted a ****ing huge **** sandwich for us all to chow down on, but didn't fancy a bite himself.
    b) No ****er else was stupid enough to put their lips to that poison chalice, because they fancied retaining a modicum of political credibility after this **** show has finally ended.

Now, to be fair to her, May has doing a stellar job of showing us she possess the political nouse and savvy of three days dead kipper.

Right now I'm just impressed by the strength of her fingers, the way she's clinging on to a job she has no hope of keeping.

Give the man a chance, stabbing people in the back takes planning.
Not all of us, people with the wherewithal stand to make an absolute killing from a hard brexit.

To be fair, they do make it easy for her. Never seen greater incompetence at work.

Was watching QT last night and just wanted to pick up on a line I've heard time-to-time from some leave voters: It's the "we survived two world wars we'll survive Brexit" line.

I've said before that i suspect leave voters have long abandoned this thread but just in case any of them haven't or if anyone reading this talks to a leave voter who trots out this line please ask them to stop as 'we' did not survive two world wars!

You'd think as remembrance Sunday was only last week that this fact would be fresh in their minds but apparently not, saying we survived two world wars we'll survive Brexit is not only very disrespectful but it's extremely crass.

    /Rant

Not only that, but we didn't wake up one peaceful morning and say "d'you know what'd be good? A nice war."

I'm guessing the irony of some Conservative MP's submitting letters to the 1922 comity saying they want to re-run the leadership vote they had shortly after the referendum is probably lost on them.

Maybe we should tell them how wanting to change the result of a vote they had two years ago is undemocratic, it's a betrayal i tell ya' :)

Rudderless Rudd in at the DWP, because being fired once for lying to parliament about departmental targets evidently wasn't enough for her.

    EDIT:

    Steve Barclay is new bexitary…

...nope, no idea who he is either.
