There will be no deal, there was never going to be. Look at the reports, by the EU, of the unpreparedness of UK negotiators. Their disinterest was once attributed to arrogance but the whole process was a sham. Brexit is about installing free market policies, even if that means a period of hardship where we are "regrettably" forced to sacrifice things like worker's rights, consumer protections, and the NHS.

    Look at the last time.

I'm not saying that won't come... just that Boris will agree to something utterly **** [and/or meaningless on closer inspection] last minute just make himself look good and/or like he got one over on the EU.

Everyone will know it's bollocks, but the base won't care.

Including the EU, which is why they wouldn't go for it.

Just look at how Parliament just voted down amendments on the Trade Bill to protect the farming industry, the NHS and subject trade agreements to Parliamentary scrutiny.

Not that Leavers would notice. They are actually fuming at the EU's insistence on a "level playing field" which would protect British worker rights and the environment, and prevent huge tax breaks and state subsidies for large corporations at the expense of public service funding.

Shouldn't you be doing that to French people, though?

My French is not fluent enough to do therapy in. Anyway, they seem to be in less need at the moment.

The new, post-pandemic normal will be therapy by phone/video call. I will be able to see clients in the UK from my veranda in the South of France. :D

For all their expensive education, 'learning to read' was evidently not on the curriculum at any point.

Basically the bexiteers' attitude to everything:

Don't worry about your French not being good enough, plenty of damaged Brits around here who need your help! Quite a few extolling the virtues of Brexit, several who have fallen for obvious scams by signing paperwork in French (and these people who have been living here for decades have worse french than me and I speak the language like a Spanish cow) for heating, insulation work etc. after being assured the cost to them will be 1 Euro then finding out after all work has been completed that actually what they signed for was a 20000 Euro bill for around 5000 euros of work.

That's not even touching on the idiots who are trying to run a farm out here, they are really in trouble!
